We are currently seeking Structural Steel Iron Workers.Atlas Welding & Fabrication, Inc. is a family owned and operated company that was founded in 1977. The company became known for fabricating miscellaneous and ornamental metals for installation. We pride ourselves that we’ve maintained that reputation over our 43 years in business. Over time we have grown and developed maintaining our reputation for quality while expanding our services into structural steel. Our company uses state of the art CNC machines from Peddinghaus to maintain the same quality in structural as we do in miscellaneous steel fabrication. We have implemented an in-house detailing department that uses SDS/2 software. The ideal candidate also demonstrates a strong commitment to safety by following the proper industry procedures and wearing appropriate protective equipment when necessary.Job Responsibilities:Synthesize information from a variety of sources, including blueprints, plans and written specifications, in order to select proper materials and the needed amounts for a project.Use details from written plans and instructions from supervisors in order to securely bolt metal structures like beams and columns together.Transport heavy metal pieces from the ground level to a higher location using tools like cranes or working with other team members to help position pieces correctly.Build steel or iron structural pieces and components when working on a project that involves a large structure like a commercial building or other public works project.Ensure proper placement, balance and alignment of structural pieces by using levels, laser tools or plumb bobs.Transform metal pieces into functional elements that meet the guidelines of the project by cutting materials and using fabrication techniques.Access challenging work positions that are either at elevation or otherwise difficult to reach while following the proper OSHA regulations.Job Skills & Qualifications:Required:Three (3) years experienceHigh school diploma or its equivalentCompletion of an apprenticeship or experience in the fieldAbility to pass all types of screening before employmentPhysical endurance to complete the necessary tasksPreferred: Carry minimum of 50 lbs.Knowledge of various types of materials and their propertiesAbility to work well in a team environment
