You'll pursue innovative ideas while advancing professionally alongside some of the brightest minds in biopharma.Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) Department seeks a passionate Scientist to join the Transporter Group. The Transporter Group is a center of excellence serving to understand the roles of transporters in drug ADME, efficacy and toxicity and to de-risk the potential for transporter mediated DDIs. The group supports the BMS portfolio through all stages of discovery and development with stage-appropriate, hypothesis driven, in vitro and in vivo transporter assessments; applying mechanism-based approaches to the quantitative translation of pre-clinical in vitro and in vivo data to clinical findings.In this role, the Scientist will design and conduct various in vitro transporter studies to support the BMS drug discovery and development pipeline. In addition, they will develop novel models and assays for drug transporters to better investigate disposition of drug substrates, which is crucial to our success in optimizing and developing drug candidates and modalities.ResponsibilitiesThe individual will work as part of a dynamic team to design, conduct, and report high-quality in vitro transporter studies utilizing recombinant cell lines, primary cells and membrane vesicles, and to coordinate in vivo studies.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree 5+ years of academic / industry experienceor Master's Degree 3+ years of academic / industry experienceor PhD No experience requiredPreferred Qualifications:
PhD degree in biology, toxicology, pharmacology, or related major, with no experience required, Master's degree with 3+ years of experience in the ADMET field, or Bachelor's degree with 5+ years relevant ADMET experience
Working knowledge of drug absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion and transporters
Experience with mammalian cell culture and in vitro transporter assays in recombinant cell lines, primary hepatocytes and/or membrane vesicles
Ability to independently design experiments and deliver data in a timely manner, including authoring of research reports for regulatory submission
Ability to analyze and summarize data using tools such as Excel, Graphpad, and PowerPoint
Excellent oral and written communication skills, and track record of working collaboratively in a team environment
