Accommodation is available upon request for candidates taking part in the selection process.The Head of AXIS Reinsurance Claims will report to the AXIS Chief Claims Officer and will lead and manage the AXIS Reinsurance Claims organization, contributing as a key member of the AXIS Claims Leadership team. The Head of Reinsurance Claims will be responsible for leading and managing the Reinsurance Claims Department delivering a high-quality claims results and excellent customer service in a team-oriented environment. This role requires a strong understanding of Reinsurance claims management and the reinsurance claims life cycle and related workflows that support the claims adjusting activities. The ideal candidate possesses an innovative and continuous improvement mindset, the willingness to drive change. This role requires the ability to work cross-functionally in a complex, global organization and the commitment to and ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders, including Executive and Operating Committee Leadership, Reinsurance Underwriting, Actuarial, HR, Information Technology, Global Operations and Technical Accounting, Legal, Finance, Data Analytics, and Claims Operations & Shared Services.KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESLead and build a multi-disciplinary claims team developing the reinsurance claims service capabilities of AXIS Reinsurance Claims. More specifically, this role will be responsible for:

Developing a holistic vision for best-in-class Reinsurance Claims department and developing plans to drive this vision forward and execute on this vision.

Evaluating current operating models and developing optimal operating model to support a best-in-class reinsurance claims function.

Lead and foster a change, transformation mindset supporting claims improvement and growth aligned to Underwriting strategy and growth plans.

Developing and delivering effective management reporting that supports Underwriting, Actuarial and business stakeholders with current systems functionality as well as envisioning improvements to enhance and improve reporting and driving initiatives to accomplish improvement.

Ensure all claims and related reporting processes timely notify stakeholders of reserving activity and claims activity showing trends and developments impacting Underwriting, Pricing and Reserving.

Establishing and cultivating communication as a core value for all Reinsurance Claims Team members driving full circle communication with all stakeholders.

Supporting and developing critical relationships with brokers and clients supporting the business of AXIS Reinsurance.

Fostering knowledge building and contributing to our thought leadership and market presence through presentations and other strategic activities.

Leading a performance-based culture by actively coaching and mentoring direct reports, providing regular feedback, and developing employees for broader roles and responsibilities that support professional growth and development and working collaboratively with HR Business partner support and guidance.

Fostering a diverse and inclusive team and environment.

Recruiting, hiring, and retaining top talent and developing appropriate succession plans.

Leading and fostering a transformation mindset supporting Reinsurance Claims improvement that is aligned to Underwriting strategy and growth plans.

Managing budgeted resources by anticipating expenditures, accurately forecasting resource needs/costs to properly account for expenses and budget requirements.

Successful candidates will possess the following skills/capabilities:You are an experienced leader with a demonstrated history of leading and getting work done in a fast-paced environment, with curious mindset and an aptitude for analyzing data and making practical and forward-looking decisions to drive foundational change as well as:

Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and management skills leading teams in cross functional work via collaboration, negotiation, influence, and teamwork involving core operating functions ( e.g ., reinsurance claims management, claims operations, technical accounting, underwriting, and actuarial, etc.).

Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability and experience reporting and presenting to senior management.

Results driven personality and mindset focused on building a diverse, inclusive team, and demonstrated ability to lead by example.

Motivation to build a dynamic, modern, Reinsurance Claims function with a continuous improvement mindset focusing on developing efficient workflows and operational support and efficiency using both domestic and offshore resources, collaborating and working with AXIS Claims Global Shared Services.

Ability to identify and develop modern, state of the art functional workflows and related administrative and operational capabilities to deliver claim service on a sustained basis supporting growth and profitability.

Broad experience working in a Reinsurance Claims leadership role.

A proven record of delivering change, and leading change.

Effective conflict resolution skills to deal with people with differing expectations and viewpoints.

College or law degree, preferred

International travel is associated with this role.

Preferred Locations:New York, NYPrinceton, NJRed Bank, NJAlpharetta, GAFor this position, we expect to offer a base salary in the range of USD $300K - $350K. The specific salary offer will be based on an assessment of a variety of factors, including the experience of the successful candidate and their work location. In addition, all employees are eligible for competitive incentive targets, with awards based on overall corporate and individual performance.
