Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Pine Brook, New Jersey. The role involves conducting month-end closes, working with Quickbooks and Excel, and managing balance sheets. This position is located 100% in the office, with working hours from 9-5 and a 1-hour lunch break.Responsibilities: Conduct month-end closes to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial reports Utilize Quickbooks and Excel for financial data management and analysis Prepare and review balance sheets to assess the financial position of the company Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures Collaborate with team members to improve financial processes and systems Conduct regular audits and implement corrective actions when necessary Provide support to team members and management on specific financial issues and inquiries Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial policies, regulations, and industry trends to provide suitable recommendations Assist in the training of Entry Level (EL) accountants and provide guidance to those with experience Work in a 100% in-office environment, adhering to the set working hours and break schedules. Requirements Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Demonstrated ability to handle 'Month End Close' procedures. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). At least 2 years of experience in a Staff Accountant or similar role. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated integrity and professionalism. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
