Staff Accountant

Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a diligent Staff Accountant in Parsippany, New Jersey. The successful candidate will be tasked with a variety of accounting functions, from preparing for audits to reconciling bank accounts. This role will be based on-site and will serve as a critical component of our financial operations team.Responsibilities: Assisting in audit preparation by compiling necessary financial records and analyses Conducting bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting Performing account analysis to identify and rectify any discrepancies Executing balance sheet reconciliations and analyses to maintain financial integrity Cleaning up the trial balance to ensure accurate financial data Utilizing Microsoft Excel for data management and financial analysis Operating in-house software for various accounting functions Demonstrating keen attention to detail in all accounting tasks Applying analytical skills to resolve complex financial issues Utilizing skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Month End Close, and Microsoft Excel. Requirements Applicants must have a proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Experience in Bank Reconciliations is necessary Proficiency in General Ledger management is required Applicants should have experience with Month End Close procedures Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory A professional qualification in Accounting or a related field is needed Applicants should have strong analytical skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required Applicants must have strong organizational and multitasking skills Knowledge of accounting software and databases is necessary Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information discreetly Applicants should have a strong understanding of business ethics Proven ability to work as part of a team and independently Applicants must have strong problem-solving skills Experience in a similar role as a Staff Accountant is preferred Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
