Associate Medical Director, Strategic Publication PlanningApproved for full-time remote from anywhere in the USJob SummaryAssociate Medical Director, Strategic Publication Planning have strong scientific backgrounds and are passionate about publication planning and development. They work closely with medical directors and medical writers to ensure on-target communication and clinical accuracy across all assigned brands and assignments. They are tasked with building relationships with clinical and research executives in the pharmaceutical industry as well as academic opinion leaders and enjoy developing technically high-level projects including slide presentations, abstracts, scientific posters, executive meeting minutes, peer-reviewed publications, and other materials requiring sound clinical judgment and excellent writing skills.Associate Medical Directors have a high attention to detail and ensure that quality outputs are delivered to clients. They should also enjoy working as part of a supportive and dynamic team. Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesAs part of the Medical team, you’ll be responsible for the following activities:
Demonstrating excellent written and verbal communication skills
Communicating complex scientific ideas in an accurate and innovative way
Working independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality work
Quickly and thoroughly understanding any pharmaceutical product, particularly as it relates to the overall therapeutic area
Demonstrating knowledge of product positioning and messaging within the competitive space and scientific and/or educational tactics
Directing and reviewing content created by others (medical writers, medical associates, graphic designers) to ensure quality, accuracy, and strategic alignment across all projects
Learning new skills and therapy areas
Demonstrating proficiency in medical writing
Following SOPs
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
MD, PharmD, or PhD degree
2+ years of pharmaceutical and/or medical communications experience
Expertise in critical data analysis and interpretation
Strong organization and project management capabilities
Ability to work both independently and in a team structure
High level of comfort working with clients and faculty
Aptitude for the English language and excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple and sometimes competing challenges, issues, and priorities with the ability to problem solve and set clear expectations
Proficiency in MS365 including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams, EndNote experience a plus!
Strong written/verbal communication skills
Travel Requirements
10% potential global travel
