Description We are seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of a Food Merchandiser for our client located in the Old Bridge, New Jersey area. This role involves dealing with all aspects of food merchandising and requires a good understanding of SAP. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining fiscal year budget objectives, coordinating with vendors and sales representatives, creating weekly advertisements, and tracking inventory levels among other duties.Responsibilities:

Leverage SAP for comprehensive merchandising tasks to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.

Oversee fiscal year budget objectives, encompassing ad billings, promotional income, run rates, vendor aging, comp store sales, warehouse purchases, and company events to ensure financial goals are met.

Engage with vendors and sales representatives to analyze market trends and negotiate optimal costs and deals for GM/HBC (General Merchandise/Health & Beauty Care) and Store Supplies promotions.

Design and produce weekly GM/HBC advertisements, incorporating feature retails and case projections to drive sales and customer engagement.

Compile and present detailed information for committee meetings, including advertisements, actuals, new items, and gross profit analyses.

Conduct thorough analysis of sales trends and data within GM/HBC and Store Supplies categories to inform strategic decisions and optimize sales performance.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or related field is preferred. Must possess a minimum of 4 years of experience in a Purchaser role within the retail-food store industry Demonstrated ability in Merchandising Excellent negotiation and communication skills Strong analytical skills to evaluate market trends and product performance Proven ability to manage relationships with suppliers and vendors Proficiency in using inventory management softwareRobert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
