The Electronic Layout Technician is a part of the Engineering Team in a fast-paced and growing global Lighting industry. The position reports directly to Director of Electrical Systems & Software Development Engineering, and is responsible for lay out, build, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify developmental and production electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems. Usually work under direction of engineering staff.Job Responsibilities
Accurate and efficient design concept development from design brief, variant data form or Project Specification, including prototype development. Critical thinking and problem solving are key.
Ability to produce detailed, professional quality drawings to Project specifications; Part drawings; 2D and 3D prototype development; Submittal and Standard product drawings.
Product Documentation, includes: Bills of Material Structure; Oracle ERP system is +; assembly documentation; installation sheets and generate specification data sheet.
Collaborate with Customer Support and Senior Engineering team on special projects.
Complete value engineering assignments for cost savings and product enhancement goals.
Other duties as deemed priority and appropriate by the Company and management.
Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment or Lighting preferred
Experience in PCB Layout using: PCB Eagle or PCB Artist or Altium.
Know how to design for both low cost mass production PCB
Understanding PCB manufacturing processes, routing, v-scoring, and drilling.
Knowledge with MCPCB and thermal design for FR4 and CEM.
Experience with Gerber files reviewing and editing.
Hands-on ability to assemble PCB in house
Ability to create new pcb symbol
Knowledge with 2D Auto-cad or other DXF creating software
Understanding voltage drop and current hogging
Testing of electronics and LED drivers
CAD Certification is plus
Lighting application courses by IES a plus
Associates Degree or Technical College
