Optical Prep Technician

Inrad Optics is currently seeking enthusiastic individuals to add to our manufacturing team. We are looking for someone with the ability to clean, test, and measure the qualities of various custom optics to ensure compliance with manufacturing and customer requirements. This job requires excellent visual acuity and manual dexterity. The ability to follow work instructions and make decisions at various stages of assembly are keys to success for this position. Key responsibilitiesClean and inspect optical components with clear apertures and mounts using MIL specificationsClean and inspect optics post-alignment/assemblyPerform visual inspections of optics for defects related to fabricationPerform optical tests, including interferometric tests, to determine compliance to specificationsOperation of inspection equipment and interpretation of generated dataCooperate with other departments to resolve quality concerns as neededOrganize and maintain all required documents, both electronical and paper filesPerform the internal and/or coordinate the external testing required by customer requirementsKey requirements High school graduate or equivalent with technical trade skillsB.S. in optical sciences or technical field preferred.Knowledge of basic handling of optics preferredBasic understanding of algebraProven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environmentStrong interpersonal and problem-solving skillsStrong active listening skillsGood visual acuity and hand-eye coordinationComfortable using microscopes and hand loupes for many hours at a timeAbility to lift 25lbsMust be fully vaccinatedMust be either a US citizen or a permanent resident as we are an ITAR compliant organizationBenefitsMonday-Friday ScheduleFlexible PTOMedical DentalVision401k matching
