EVO Transportation seeks a Backhaul Coordinator to support its growing local and regional truckload business. This is a position that requires a terrific personality with excellent people skills and a superb attention to detail. The candidate is an essential role of profitability optimization for our company and is essential to everyone’s success. This position is responsible for filling truck routes with high revenue freight from current and broker customers. The Backhaul Coordinator will report to the Senior Vice President of Operations and is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

·Work closely with Operations to examine open routes and available opportunities to fill trailer capacity with revenue-generating customer freight.

· Work to find backhaul opportunities on various public load boards, negotiate high market prices with transportation brokers, and secure beneficial contracts on key lanes that match our network needs.

· Reduce operational waste in the form of non-revenue-generating mileage costs, labor costs, fuel costs, etc. by obtaining backhaul and headhaul loads that are within specified radius of target areas.

· Communicate secured load information and customer expectations to Load Planners and Driver Managers so drivers and operations team can work efficiently and profitably.

· Prospect and cold call new customers to generate new customer business fitting the EVO freight network.

· Ensure that our load boards are accurate and complete at all times. Load boards should reflect exactly what has taken place in true and real time so that our billing department can bill accurately.

· Assist in collecting proper paperwork and payment from customers as needed.

· Problem-solve to handle customer service issues within a fast-paced environment. Lead customer service and customer communication for your accounts.

· Assist in providing load tracking updates for our customers.

· Continuously promote a safe working environment following all FMCSA and DOT laws and regulations.

The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience:

· A minimum of five years of experience planning loads and/or dispatching a truckload fleet within a local and regional capacity.

· The desire and ability to make sound logistical decisions to provide exceptional customer service;

· A firm understanding of FMCSR, DOL, and DOT laws and regulations.

· The desire and ability to proactively solve problems;

· Great communication skills (written and verbal) with people at all levels of the organization, all customers, and all vendors;

· The ability to achieve results by using a positive approach to motivate our staffed drivers;

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to details;

· Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

· Experience with dispatching software and on-board computers is key.
