Busy commercial glass and glazing construction company located in northern NJ is seeking an experienced full-time Shop Manager. Experience in shop management is required. Knowledge of Aluminum Storefront Fabrication is a plus but would be willing to train a qualified candidate. Applicant must be motivated, organized, and detail oriented.
Daily Shop Management Responsibilities
- Supervise daily activities of the shop, including fabrication, quality control, inventory, organization and space management, deliveries, logistics and maintenance of warehouse.
- Oversee fabrication to meet the demands of the Project Managers and manage the flow and quality of work to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime.
- Inspect equipment, tools and machinery regularly, and oversee general maintenance as needed.
- Ensure Warehouse Space is clean and organized.
- Maintain vehicles ensuring inspections and registrations are current and report any repairs required.
- Oversee and manage the loading of materials and transportation to jobsites.
- Receive deliveries and label packing slips.
- Fabricating aluminum storefront materials – experience not required; we are willing to train.
- Must have forklift certification
Fabrication Responsibility
- Assembly of Aluminum Entrances
- Cutting and Assembly of Aluminum Storefront
- Ability to lift at least 75 lbs
- General knowledge of blueprints (Willing to train)
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must speak, read, and understand English to understand and communicate paperwork and labels.
- Ability to read and interpret basic mathematical measurements and effectively read and use a tape measure.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed.
- Must be able to multitask
