BACKGROUND
In 1948, the sons of Joseph and Carmela Stavola founded Stavola Contracting Co., the first Stavola Company. Today, Stavola Companies remain a family-owned and operated business, consisting of four major divisions: Asphalt and Recycling Materials, Construction Materials, Contracting (heavy highway construction) and Real Estate, all located in New Jersey. What started as a company offering basement excavation and driveway paving now has 3 quarries in NJ, 2 quarries in PA, 8 asphalt plants, 3 recycling centers, and several gravel mining operations.
SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles and heavy equipment machinery to maximize safe and productive operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintain, diagnose, and repair all types of gas and diesel equipment, including, but not limited to, excavators, dozers, off-road trucks, wheel loaders, water & lube trucks, service trucks, pickups, dump trucks/trailers, and other support equipment. Typical repairs and maintenance would include work on engines, transmissions, chassis, drivelines and body components, hydraulic, brake, electrical and suspension systems. Preventative and maintenance duties includes but not limited to clean, check fluid levels, change oil, lubricate, and brake jobs. Retain records of work completed. Keeping work area clean, safe and hazard free.
REQUIREMENTS
Must own tools
1-3 years experience
Have a valid auto driver's license
Ability to operate a motor vehicle and heavy equipment safely
Understand and carry out oral and written instructions
Ability to climb on to and move about equipment
Good mental concentration and judgment
Working knowledge of company specific mechanized equipment
Working knowledge of power tools and welding equipment

High school, vocational, or trade school
