POSITION SUMMARY:
The Residential Aide, under the supervision of the Shelter Director, is responsible for assuring quality service to all program participants in a compassionate and professional manner as it relates to the specific program objectives.
Duties:
Supervise shelter resident activities and respond to all guest questions and concerns.
Explain program requirements and regulations to new shelter residents and assure compliance of these regulations.
Provide emergency assistance to shelter residents and co-workers as necessary.
Assist with coordinating shelter resident bed assignments, smoke breaks, and other daily
routines.
Assist with heating up/serving prepared meals when necessary
Address any behavior issues that create disharmony, criminal, or otherwise
Ensure shelter residents perform assigned evening housekeeping tasks.
Role model positive, professional behavior including appearance and communication with others.
Complete all shift logs, incident reports and written violations.
Adhere to staffing schedules in order to provide adequate/safe staffing coverage and to
accomplish program objectives.
Maintain a working knowledge of fire, safety, and health standards to assure a safe work
environment for clients and all personnel.
Perform intake assessments on each client, enter data into HMIS
Oversee Dinner hour and assist volunteers
Complete all information required on Daily Sign in Sheets on all shelter guests.
Assist with laundry duties of bedding, towels, etc.
Refer clients for PPD and track compliance
Requirements: Data Entry, Clerical, and Basic Computer Skills
Basic Reading, Writing and Comprehension Skills
