The Warehouse Specialist is responsible for picking/packing and inventory related tasks. Also, this position is responsible for supporting all internal customers and ensuring all warehouse processes run smoothly while maintaining safety standards.Duties and Responsibilities:Safely operate tier-lift and hand trucks to transport materials a plus.Conduct regular equipment checks to ensure functionality and safety.Adhere to operational safety standards to prevent accidents and injuries.Precisely pick and pack products for internal & external customers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with specifications.Utilize order management systems to track and update order status and material transactions.Prepare items for shipment with proper labeling, ensuring compliance with shipping regulations.Systematically issue materials and update records in the inventory management system.Conduct regular cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies.Implement inventory control measures to reduce wastage and optimize stock levels.Unpack and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.Backup to Shipping & ReceivingDocument and report damaged or missing items, coordinating with suppliers for resolution.Maintain detailed records of all received goods and corresponding actions taken.Monitor and maintain an organized inventory of shipping materials and supplies.Forecast supply needs and coordinate timely reordering to prevent shortages.Coordinate with team members to ensure smooth operations and workflow.Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, including loading, and unloading trucks.Support the machine shop team with material handling and project requirements.Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data management and reporting.Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems for effective inventory management.Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software and technologies.Strong problem-solving skills to address operational challenges.Ability to analyze data to identify trends and inform decision-making.Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear and effective interactions.Strong listening skills to understand and respond to team and customer needs.Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues.Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.Open to feedback and committed to continuous improvement.Fluent in English, with the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.Capable of accurately sorting, counting, and verifying items received.Education & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Prior experience in a warehouse or logistics environment preferred.Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and inventory management software.Experience using Microsoft Office tools for data management and reporting.Forklift operation permit is highly preferred, with a commitment to obtaining certification if not already held.Working ConditionsExposure to moving mechanical parts, wet/humid conditions, and airborne particles.Moderate noise level, typical of a warehouse setting.Capability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs. Must be able to navigate stairs and work in various warehouse conditions.Physical RequirementsAbility to perform physical tasks, including standing, sitting, walking, bending, squatting, climbing ladders and kneeling.Capability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
