A privately owned regional commercial real estate management group is looking for a full time Mobile Maintenance/Porter Technician to oversee and perform duties related to the overall maintenance of the Northern New Jersey commercial retail, office and industrial properties.
Candidate must be a self-starter, possess a valid driver’s license and speak English fluently.
Ability to professionally interact with tenants on site.
Position includes physical labor, light construction, light carpentry, general plumbing, minor HVAC and electrical, walking, climbing ladders, porter services
Must have the ability to use a smartphone to document conditions and report to the Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager.
Software interaction with email, smart phone, RealPage Commercial Mobile Maintenance app.
No prior criminal convictions.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Requires driving from property to property performing various maintenance and porter tasks
Company Vehicle will be provided during working hours, must have personal transportation to and from work.
Maintain work truck and all equipment.
Ability to professionally interact with tenants on site.
Position requires the performance of maintenance work inside and outside of properties.
Maintenance task changes daily based on what is needed. Tasks include but not limited to: physical labor, walking, climbing ladders, minor roof maintenance, door lock replacements, minimal carpentry, sheetrock, and painting, porter services to maintain a clean exterior appearance such as litter clean up, graffiti removal, sticker removal, storefront glass and frame cleaning, weed killer, etc. vacant space cleanliness, providing access for vendors, utility companies, town inspectors etc.
Able to complete service requests issued by commercial team, in a timely and efficient manner,
May require occasional after-hours duties during emergencies.
Able to provide technical information and recommendations to executive management.
Use of ladders will be frequently required in this position.
Experience and Education requirements:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience.
High school diploma required.
Vocational or trade school certifications are a plus.
Previous retail buildout experience a plus.
