Your Job as a Dishwasher:
You have a very important job in our kitchen! We rely on you to make sure our kitchen functions smoothly and efficiently. Your responsibilities include:
Retrieving used equipment and dishes from the gray fish tubs in the kitchen and replacing them with empty fish tubs
Washing and drying all equipment, flatware, glasses and dishes sent to you by the kitchen assistants and chefs
Proper use of the 3-basin sink and dishwasher
Organizing equipment to be sent back to the kitchen with the kitchen assistants
Cleaning the dishwasher and sink at the end of each shift, and replacing chemicals as needed. Let someone know if you are running low on chemicals
Polishing glasses and putting them back on the shelves
Polishing silverware and serving utensils and putting them back in their places
Soaking cutting boards in bleach when they have any stains
Taking out the garbage and recycling. There is a pick-up schedule posted in the dish room. Always replace the garbage bags.
2 large garbages in the main kitchen area + 1 garbage in dishwashing room

All cardboard boxes must be broken down (goes out with recycling)
Making sure the dish room is clean and organized at the end of each shift. You must mop if there is excess water on the floor.
You should NOT receive anything with a blade. If you receive a knife, peeler, microplane, etc. please send it back to the kitchen assistants who will clean it.
Dress Code:
Please arrive wearing long pants and comfortable shoes.
You may wear a chefs coat and/or apron located in the pantry.
Critical Points:
Dishwashers must arrive on time for their shifts. Lateness is not acceptable and affects the entire kitchen.
Keep the dish room clean and organized. If you have free time throughout your shift, you should be making sure the dish is clean (not on your phone).
Have to have a sense of urgency!
