We make all our ice cream and baked goods by hand in our kitchen in Jersey City, using only all natural milk and cream to create our unique, chef-driven flavors.
Milk Sugar Love is looking for a smart, hard-working, self-motivated, cheerful cook to join our growing team. Cooks assist in all aspects of running a clean, efficient kitchen including but not limited to ice cream and baked good production, ensuring safe food handling, and monitoring quality of all food production. Prior commercial kitchen experience is a must.
Must have the ability to juggle an ever-changing workload and produce product in bulk that adheres to our strict quality standards. Must enjoy working as part of a team and be able to face challenges with a professional, positive attitude.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Be meticulously clean and aware of all food safety standards
Follow recipes accurately, understanding and utilizing volumetric measurements
Communicate effectively and directly with supervisors and other team members
Maintain organization and cleanliness of the kitchen, including dry storage, freezers and fridges
Conduct daily quality checks of products.
Must be able to stand for 8 hour shifts and lift at least 50 lbs.
Kitchen hours are Tuesday to Friday 10am to 6pm
