Overview
Looking for a talented back-end cook to join our team at our bustling cafe in Glen Ridge, NJ!
If you love working in a fun, fast-paced environment and are available Tuesday through Friday, plus weekends, we want to hear from you! This is a fantastic opportunity to be a key part of our kitchen.
Duties
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards.
Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and guidelines.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food storage and handling practices.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other cooking tools.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages to management.
Skills
Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar role within the food service or culinary industry.
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and practices, including proper food handling techniques.
Proficient in using various kitchen equipment and tools, particularly knives for meal preparation.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
Experience in fine dining or catering is a plus but not required.
A passion for cooking and creating exceptional dining experiences for guests.
