Overview: Silverline Group, a vertically integrated development and construction company, is seeking a highly motivated architectural graduate to join their team as an Assistant Project Manager Trainee. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both office and onsite construction settings, working on exciting projects in North Jersey and Queens, NYC.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist in coordinating the design and construction process under the guidance of the Executive Director of Development & Construction for 27 unit, 120 unit and 80 unit developments.
2. Participate in bids, scope documents, and subcontractor contract agreements.
3. Participate in bid level meetings and contractor negotiations.
4. Learn to manage subcontractor requisitions and shop drawings process.
5. Learn and administer NYC DOBNOW BUILD system for construction permits.
6. Develop site-specific safety plans and obtain necessary permits.
7. Attend site meetings and track project progress.
8. Oversee permit and drawings logs, as well as neighbor access agreements.
9. Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings, providing markups as needed.
10. Assist in producing setting out drawings and overseeing the setting out for concrete foundations and superstructure buildings.
11. Learn and participate in self-performing concrete tasks, including rebar and formwork shops, safety protocols, and materials management.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field.
2. Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
3. Excellent organizational skills and ability to communicate effectively. Highly organized in their thinking, and able to communicate in effective emails.
4. Professional demeanor with clear and concise verbal and written communication. Have a good telephone etiquette and be able to speak in a clear and concise confident manner to subcontractors and consultants.
5. Genuine interest in construction processes and building development. A person who is genuinely interested in how things are made/constructed, and thus would be inquisitive to do further research to gain a better understanding of the issues and the processes to improve and adapt the product and/or detail for future use;
6. Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment. Be willing to keep a journal and be willing to be mentored to improve on how to develop new processes, etc.
7. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
8. A graduate who is excited by the world of architectural design, and really is passionate for the process of construction and how buildings are put together.
9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to learn project management software.
10. Previous internship or work experience in construction or architecture is a plus.
Project Status:
Concrete frame superstructure permit secured.
Anticipated 18-month construction timeline for project completion in Queens, and 36 months in West New York, NJ.
