Family in Metuchen is looking for a long-term, full-time nanny for their 2-year-old twins. The typical schedule is Monday through Thursday from 7:00 am until 7:00 pm. Ideally, Nanny will be able to split the 5th day (Friday) with another caregiver.
Duties include:
Cooking for the children. Shopping at the food store two blocks away either when the children are sleeping or when walking them in the stroller. Doing the children’s laundry. Tidying up after them, including vacuuming. Making appointments for the children. Walking the dog for 20 minutes in the afternoon when the kids are sleeping and one or both parents are working from home.
Ideal nanny:
The ideal nanny for this family can keep the children safe and engaged throughout the day with age appropriate and educational activities. They live within a 30-minute driving distance. They can assist with potty training and are able to provide overnight care 2 to 4 times a month when the parents travel. Hoping to find a caregiver who is vegetarian and can prepare vegetarian meals.
About the children:
These twin toddlers are 2 years old. Twin #1 is a good observer and loves animals. He is slow to warm up to new people. Twin #2 is more outgoing than her brother and also more verbal. The children typically get along.
About the parents:
These parents are hard workers who like to create and maintain routines. Mom is a pediatrician and very safety oriented. They use a gentle but firm tone, along with consistency and explanations, to encourage positive behaviors in their children. This is a vegetarian household. Both parents are down to earth and structured.
