This role is offered at a starting rate from $25 to $30 hourly for qualified applicants:
This is a part time (20-25 hrs per week), non-exempt, onsite position, reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, working out of our Cedar Knolls administrative offices. We are seeking someone outgoing, creative, self-motivated, detail-oriented and capable of taking ownership of projects and initiatives, from inception to completion. This person will be able to work well with other team members, collaborate across multiple departments and thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
The ideal candidate possesses the following abilities:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a full-charge bookkeeper with solid understanding of accounting principles
- High comfort level with technology including apps (Medicaid billing a plus).
- Work independently with minimal supervision required.
- Excellent organization skills and solid attention to detail.
- Ability to build good working relationships with HSI teammates
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and meet closing deadlines
This role will be responsible for:
- Managing Accounts Payable: Ensure timely payment of all bills and accurate record keeping in the accounting system
- Processing Accounts Receivable Transactions.
- Assisting in preparing quarterly actual vs. budget reports for HSI and entities
- Posting bi-weekly payroll journal entry into Accounting software.
- Active and productive participation and support of the Finance team in multiple aspects of the non-profit accounting cycle.
Part time permanent staff of Homeless Solutions are eligible for paid sick leave in accordance with HSI policy and NJ State law. In addition, all staff are eligible immediately upon hiring to participate in a 401k retirement savings plan, including up to a 6% company paid match.
