Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Office Assistant for the English Writing Program department within the School of Arts & Sciences. Under the general guidance of the Writing Program (including all affiliated units) administrative staff, Business Manager Supervisor, Director of Finance & Operations, and Faculty Leadership, the Office Assistant performs business, administrative and secretarial duties.Among the key duties of this position are the following:Supports daily administrative operations of the Writing Program and affiliated units including but not limited to assisting in maintaining office equipment and supplies, unlocking and locking department offices and space, and liaising with federal work-study student workers on different administrative activities.Answers phone calls and email queries, provides administrative support to faculty, students and staff of the department.Supports the business activities of the Writing Program and all affiliated units including but not limited to procurement, payroll processing, accounts receivables, creating billing structures and invoicing, collection and processing payments.Assists Faculty Leadership, Staff and the Business Manager Supervisor on other duties as needed to support the Writing Program and all affiliated units. Position Status Part Time Hours Per Week 195 Daily Work Shift Work Arrangement This position requires a fully on-site work arrangement. FLSA Nonexempt Position Salary $20 - $23 per Hour Payroll Designation PeopleSoft Terms of Appointment Temporary Staff Appointment - Hourly Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Certifications/Licenses Preferred Qualifications Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Suite. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Complete work consistent with a basic understanding of the mission, vision, and goals of the Writing Program.Performs professional work that requires knowledge of general administrative/office support practices and the basic application and use of concepts, approaches, and terminology of unit administration.Must be able to meet deadlines and have strong attention to detail.
