Assistant/Associate Scientist

TSR is a premier national U.S. staffing company with over 50 years of staffing excellence.Our client, a leading Pharmaceutical Company, is hiring an Associate/Assistant Scientist for one year contract opportunity.Location: New Brunswick, NJ ( ONSITE ) Job Description: The scientist will participate on a cross functional team involved in molecular analytics supporting cell lines used for the clinical and commercial manufacture of therapeutic antibodies and fusion proteins.Primary duties will be to provide molecular and protein analytics support for biologics in development and manufacturing. The candidate must have a strong molecular biology background as they are expected to continuously identify ways to improve processes/outcomes, trouble shoot problems, and develop and implement new technologies. In this position the candidate will be responsible for generating and analyzing the data characterizing the integrity, integration number, copy number, transcript quality and variants arising from expression cassettes used to generate mammalian cell lines of interest. The candidate will write technical documents on experiments performed, and is expected to work collaboratively across multiple functional groups. This is a fast paced environment requiring good time management and lab notebook documenting skills.PhD with 0-2 years of relevant experience, or MS with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.Strong molecular biology skills is essential, particularly in DNA and RNA isolation, Southern and Northern blot, qPCR, cDNA generation, and primer design.
