North Star Academy Washington Park High School is seeking an innovative audio/visual teacher to design and teach a new electives class focused on audio and video production. The teacher of this class can largely determine the topics and scope of the class, but the class will be a project-based experience in which students will learn the skills necessary to design, plan, produce and edit their own ideas and have freedom to demonstrate mastery in a variety of ways. Responsibilities1.     InstructionYou'll create a safe and interactive environment where students feel empowered to engage in audio-visual production.You’ll develop students' audio-visual design through curriculum development and project based learning.You will use your expertise and creativity to model editing, production and technical abilities for your students.  2.     School CultureYou’ll build positive relationships with students to ensure they feel seen, loved, and heard.You’ll partner with students’ families to ensure appropriate resources are available to support their child's learning needs.You'll engage in practice-based professional development, mentorship, and coaching sessions.You'll participate in weekly, school-wide meetings to cultivate community, model our core values, and encourage student achievement.You'll partner with your grade level team to develop academic goals and practice instructional strategies.
