Description We are on the hunt for a skilled Controller to join our team in the retail or wholesale industry, located in Newark, New Jersey. You will be expected to go to NYC a few days a week and there will be some work from home capabilities. As a Controller, you will play a critical role in managing financial activities, ensuring accurate financial records, and providing strategic analysis to support our business decisions. Ideal Controller will have 10 years + experience out of a wholesale or retailer. Must be able to lead an accounting team. Room for growth in this role!Responsibilities: Oversee and manage all accounting operations, including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). Utilize accounting software systems and CRM to maintain accurate financial records. Conduct regular auditing processes to ensure financial compliance and integrity. Must understand Factoring and Chargebacks process Handle the budgeting process, preparing financial forecasts, and monitoring financial progress against budget. Ensure all accounting practices align with the retail industry standards and regulations. Collaborate with various departments to understand financial needs and provide appropriate solutions. Handle all aspects of financial reporting. Maintain Bank relationships. Continually review and improve financial processes and systems to increase efficiency.Requirements Proficiency in 3M and CRM systems Familiarity with Payroll and Insurance Demonstrated proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems Strong technical skills10 + years of accounting and supervisory experience Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Proven skills in Auditing processes Apparel industry preferred Ability to adhere to all company policies and retail industry regulations Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and time management abilities Proven ability to work in a team environment and independently Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field is required Professional certification like CPA or CMA is preferred Previous experience in a similar role within the retail industry is essential.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
