Posting Summary Rutgers University- Newark (RU-N), an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise is seeking a Business Coordinator (Unit Admin/Specialist Casual). This position reports to the Associate Director Spvr. This position will provide business administrative support and day-to-day fiscal operations support for the Cornwall Center.This position is responsible for and not limited to the following:Responsible for the daily processing of various financial transactions and tracking of revenue and expenses.Maintain accurate records and accounting of all expended funds, reconcile accounts monthly, and prepare internal reports as directed by the Associate Director SpvrWork with Associate Director Sprv and pi s to manage all post-award activities, monitor and reconcile budget expenditures to assist Principal Investigators with fiscal oversight and reporting of grants/contracts receiveWork in conjunction with the Business Assistant II and Administrative Assistant to maintain accurate records of all expenditures and process requisitions as needed.Assist in payroll activities when needed. Position Status Hours Per Week 20 Daily Work Shift Work Arrangement Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. FLSA Nonexempt Position Salary $16 to $30 p/h Payroll Designation PeopleSoft Terms of Appointment Temporary Staff Appointment - Hourly Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.Requires up to two years relevant experience in an administrative function, good communication and interpersonal skills, and computer literacy. Certifications/Licenses Preferred Qualifications Strong preference of working knowledge of HCM, SciQuest, and Oracle Journal Entry system.Prefer working experience in similar type of environment in higher education institute. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrate knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and practices.Strong verbal, writing, interpersonal, organizational analytical, computer and customer relation skills.Must be able to handle multiple tasks and special assignments in a professional manner.
