Posting Summary Rutgers University-Newark (RU-N), an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise is seeking an Admissions Officer. This position reports to the Assistant Dean of Admissions for Rutgers Law School at the Newark Campus. The Admissions Officer assists with all aspects of the admissions and financial aid processes. In addition to reviewing applications, this position also requires representing the law school at recruitment fairs, forums, and panels; counseling students regarding the admissions process; and assisting our Senior Financial Aid Administrator with the counseling and communications with our prospective and current student populations.This position is responsible for and not limited to the following:Assisting in the planning and implementation of Orientation, open houses, webinars, information sessions, and other recruitment activitiesAssisting with the review and awarding of institutional and endowed scholarships; and performing other duties and special projects as assigned by the Assistant Dean of Admissions.This position requires occasional evening and weekend event responsibilities and seasonal recruiting travel.Serves as a liaison between prospective students and other external constituents on issues related to diversity and inclusion in legal education and the profession as a whole.Under the direction of the Assistant Dean of Admissions, the Assistant Director will engage with current students and Law School administrators to help develop and implement policies, pipeline and outreach programs, and curricular requirements that foster an environment of diversity and inclusion at Rutgers Law School.Must be able to work with minimal supervision and complete projects in a timely fashion. Knows the mission, goals, and objectives of the University and Rutgers Law School in order to communicate accurate and relevant information to prospects, applicants and admitted students.This position will involve evening and weekend work and travel.
