Description If you're looking to build your career in accounting, there's currently a long-term contract Staff Accountant position with Robert Half that you may want to check out. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and work alongside our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Budgets, and Financial Statements. Based in the Mt. Holly, New Jersey region, this company offers an engaging and multi-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded.Responsibilities

Take part in various department-wide initiatives

Be responsible for analysis of income statements and balance sheets and communicate findings to management

Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed

Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner

Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision

Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules

Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

ERP system experience

Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills

Microsoft Excel experience highly desired

Journal entries experience required

Deep understanding of GAAP Accounting

Account reconciliation experience desired
