We strive to develop and provide unsurpassed vehicle and transportation solutions to our clients in both the public and private sectors.We're seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Vehicle Engineer to join our cohesive and supportive team. In this role, you will have the opportunity expand your knowledge and understanding of all that goes into a transit system, while demonstrating your expertise on a myriad of interdisciplinary projects, such as new vehicle procurements, vehicle overhauls, transit strategy and planning, condition assessments, technical/mechanical issue resolution, component/system integration, and design review.In this position you will be working both independently and collaboratively with our team of established experts in both our Boston office and local field locations. Minimal (<10%) overnight travel is anticipated as part of this role.Job Duties Include: Providing technical engineering support to resolve design and system integration issues for vehicle and facility projects Performing overall vehicle & component level inspections and investigations Performing infrastructure inspections Support the drafting of technical memorandum and project correspondence, briefing reports Technical review and analysis Vendor evaluation, failure analysis Administrative matters, as work needs are identified, and responsibilities are delegated Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Substantial post graduate professional years’ experience with vehicle engineering, fleet operations, or vehicle manufacturingo Experience with Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) and Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV) preferred Substantial years’ experience in an engineering role Excellent written and verbal communications skills, and the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences are critical Proficient with the Microsoft Office SuiteIdeally, You'll Also Have: Experience with vehicle fleet procurement programs is desirable Basic knowledge of transit vehicle industry standards, systems, and practices is preferred EIT/PE or a demonstrated desire to pursue is a strong plus Car/Vehicle enthusiasts encouragedJacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
