It’s also about how we support one another and how we show up for our community.Together, we keep getting better - advancing our mission to transform healthcare and serve as a leader of positive change.The Registration and Intake Coordinator schedules and register inpatients and outpatients and handles all clerical duties for the department.The office will be relocating to Clifton 1st Quater in 2025, must have own transportationResponsibilitiesA day in the life of a Registration and Intake Coordinator at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

Schedules all appointments for patients and provides copy of daily departmental schedule for to patient transport and security.

Handles pre-registration procedures pertaining to patients by collecting insurance information and entering information into SMS.

Utilizes the Insurance Eligibility Verification system and explains process to patients.

Verifies insurance benefits/coverage by contacting insurance companies.

Creates charts for new patients.

Collects co-pays and deductibles and posts same in the finance system following HUMC cash collection/reconciliation procedure.

Processes all requests for medical records.

Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies and delivers care that is specific to those needs (i.e., age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired, etc.). This process includes communicating with the patient, parent and/or primary caregiver(s) at their level (developmental/age, educational, literacy, etc.).

Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.

QualificationsEducation, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.

Knowledge of medical terminology.
