Domain Architect (DA) will be a core member of a business-aligned technology team providing strategic and tactical expertise in support of New York Life Retail & Institutional Annuities, Long Term Care, Business Solutions and Individual Disability Insurance portfolio of businesses. Individual will create and maintain a multiyear technology roadmap for each of the supported domains to enable business strategy and alignment to enterprise standards. DA will provide technical expertise and oversight on design, development, and implementation of strategic programs and projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain overall accountability for Technology roadmaps and underlying assets within supported domains
  • Evaluate new and existing tools, technologies, processes and capabilities
  • Identify opportunities where capabilities can be leveraged across the enterprise to enable synergies across business units
  • Collaborate and develop relationships with delivery teams and other enterprise technology teams by partnering, sharing and leveraging best practices and solutions
  • Exercise experience and influence to make well-informed technology build vs buy, platform and integration decisions in a rapidly growing and evolving environment
  • Deliver artifacts, technical analysis documents and architectural designs that meet business needs and align to enterprise architecture standards
  • Represent programs and projects at the architecture and security review board and guide development teams in creating solutions based on defined patterns
  • Mentor and guide peers and junior talent to help create a pool of technically strong subject matter experts
  • Champion ideation, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Develop materials/presentations for executive stakeholders

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of demonstrated technical experience in an enterprise environment, preferably in architecture and applications delivery organizations
  • 5+ years of domain/solutions architecture experience implementing complex technology solutions
  • Experience creating cloud enablement and cloud-based solution architecture AWS or Azure
  • Customer-centric engineering mindset with an outside-in perspective
  • Proven track record of leading enterprise-scale, complex projects in a highly matrixed organizational structure with multiple business and technology stakeholders
  • Hands-on experience with software development processes and procedures
  • Solid understanding of technology components, DevOps tools, and practices
  • Proven experience in building strong partnerships with key stakeholders, including senior-level executive sponsors
  • Ability to influence leaders, drive change and transformation while working across all levels of the organization
  • Executive presence, communication skills
  • Proficient with Visio, MS Project, Word, Excel & PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications
  • 3-5 years in a top-tier management consulting firm
  • Life/P&C/Long Term Care/Disability Insurance or Annuities experience
