Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the non-profit sector, based in the Lawrenceville, New Jersey area. You will be part of a team focused on ensuring accurate and efficient processing of financial data, including customer applications, record keeping, and resolving inquiries. Responsibilities: Analyze and monitor balance sheet and income statement accounts Prepare and analyze monthly variance reports for internal management reporting Complete monthly bank reconciliation as assigned Prepare, enter, and maintain budgets in NetSuite Prepare and provide account reconciliations for compliance and annual audits Prepare and submit required documents for local, state, and federal government agencies Review and approve T& E reports via InterplX web browser software Handle approval of Accounts Payable invoices for assigned regions Prepare and data enter general journal entries monthly/quarterly as necessary Review semi-monthly payroll for validation of allocations and budget Prepare grants/contracts billing and assist with billing inquiries Order and monitor PEX, grocery cards for assigned regions Prepare monthly expense allocations and enter in general ledger Maintain contractual and general ledger files in an organized fashion Monitor and prepare monthly Vacancy Report for state(s) Prepare applications for tax exemption status as neededRequirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field. Proven experience as a Staff Accountant in a non-profit organization. Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management. Must be proficient in Excel. Experience with General Ledger maintenance and management. Skilled at creating and managing Journal Entries. Capable of handling Month End Close procedures. Familiarity with NetSuite accounting software. Experience with Oracle financial management system. Proficiency in using QuickBooks for accounting tasks.
