Nuveen is seeking a talented Sr. Lead Applications Developer with design and development experience that will contribute towards the success of our technology initiatives. This is a hands-on technical role that will collaborate with the Nuveen UX and Backend Engineering teams to create a delightful user experience.This position will guide our engineers in industry best practices, ensure compliance with SDLC, lead architectural review sessions, conduct code reviews, and ensure the quality delivery of complex software components. In addition, recommending solutions to digitize and scale business functions and processes will be important in helping to grow the business.This is a fantastic opportunity to help us build on our tradition of excellence! Develop and enhance user interfaces that are visually appealing, easy to use, and intuitive forour key stakeholders and clients.

Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using front-end web development technologies.

Design, code, develop, and perform unit testing on applications in accordance with establishedstandards.

Perform detailed design, debugging and code reviews and addresses findings appropriately.

Collaborates with the Product Analysts, UX Design, and Backend development teams toprepare the backlog, plan sprints, design solutions, and deliver according to plan.

Work closely with business users, developers, and testers to drive implementation of ITsolutions.

Collaborate with enterprise architecture teams to ensure that the solutions conform withenterprise’s architectural and information security standards.

Provide hands-on ownership of software development and delivery including post deploymentactivities.

Coaches, reviews, and delegates work to team members.

Recommend solutions to solve challenging business problems.

Identify and build core re-usable functional components, tools, and services.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Required

Work Experience

5+ Years Required; 7+ Years Preferred

Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on, proficient experience building front-end applications. Possess a solid understanding of front-end technologies and principles; understand the principles of design systems and utilization of component libraries.

At least 4 years of experience in the following technologies: AWS and related services, React expertise, web services, web design patterns, JavaScript or related, Web server like Tomcat or related.

Minimum of 5+ years of User Interface development, UX frameworks, Micro services, API’s.

At least 4 years’ experience working in a Lead role mentoring engineers and helping build careers.

Preferred:

Demonstrated history of delivering software successfully in an Agile development environment.

Experience working with Jira.

Experience in leading and implementing large scale projects.

Possess strong technical skills and ability to quickly adapt to modern technologies.

Experience in leading multi-location teams.

Possess strong critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills under challenging situations.

Experience working in a financial services organization.
