We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Director of Business Operations Risks to join our leadership team.Reporting into the Head of Business Operations, the Senior Director of Business Operations Risks will play a pivotal role in overseeing our ad policy, and audit and control teams, and other first line of defense work ensuring we meet regulatory requirements and maintain the trust of our partners and clients. This team is the first line of defense and will be responsible for identifying risks within the business, and for implementation and execution of controls to address the risks. This role will oversee a team that handles many objectives including testing, controls, remediations (post audits) and third-party risks management. There is a Walmart Connect Compliance and Ethics function responsible for strategy, oversight and management of all compliance matters related to the business and they will monitor the first line of defense. This role will have a dotted reporting line into the Director of the Walmart Connect Compliance team and partner closely with the team.Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of ad policy, audit and controls specialists, and potentially other first line of defense teams providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure high-quality work and professional development.
Serve as the primary point of contact for the Walmart Connect Compliance and Ethics team. Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive operational processes and controls to ensure adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies and compliance programs.
Oversee the development and enforcement of ad policies to ensure that all advertising content meets legal, ethical, and company standards.
Conduct regular testing and monitoring to identify and mitigate compliance risks, and to ensure ad policy and other adherence to policies.
Partner with Walmart Connect Compliance and Ethics team in collaborating with Walmart Connect senior leadership to integrate first line of compliance into the company's strategic initiatives and business operations.
Liaise with Walmart Connect Compliance and Ethics team to provide training and education to relevant Walmart Connect associates on ad policies and other risks mitigation, fostering a culture of compliance and ethical behavior.
Oversee updates to ad policies and policies, at the direction of the Legal team.
Ensure the team remains competitive, efficient, focused, and energized. Demonstrate curiosity and a growth mindset; create an environment that supports learning, innovation, and exhibit resilience in the face of setbacks.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Walmart Connect Compliance and Ethics, legal, product, engineering, sales, and marketing to ensure alignment of ad policies with product development, marketing strategies, and sales initiatives.
Build strong and trusting relationships with team members and business partners, including executives, and department heads.
Work collaboratively and cross-functionally to achieve objectives and communicate to a variety of audiences with influence and inspiration to garner commitment and action.
High level of comfort escalating and presenting key issues to management.
Preferred Qualifications.Education and work experience:
Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in compliance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the ad tech or related industry.
An understanding of data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), advertising regulations, and industry standards.
Proven track record of developing and implementing successful ad tech compliance programs.
High ethical standards and integrity, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Business and people leadership:
Proven experience in managing executive stakeholders and building strong cross-functional relationships at all levels of an organization.
High degree of professional confidence and credibility with effective presence, strong written and verbal skills to present complex information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences, including executive levels in the company.
Experience working with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
