If you have a passion for rallying together to solve the most complex challenges in the financial services industry, come join our dynamic FSO team!The opportunityYou will play a crucial role in enabling asset managers to seamlessly incorporate indices into their investment strategies, utilizing elements of financial engineering, business analysis, and research. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the indices are tailored to meet client needs and regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will focus on the precision and timeliness of index data, a fundamental factor in driving astute investment decisions. You will collaborate with portfolio managers, account managers, technology teams, operations, and data vendors, underscoring the importance of a diverse, multifaceted approach to financial solutions. As a Senior in EY Comply you will work primarily at the Irvine or Austin office, which is comprised of high-performing resources, who work closely with our experienced client serving professionals, to deliver managed services to our Financial Services clients. Join our team and assist leading asset managers in transforming their business models to address their most complex challenges.Key responsibilities

Undertake feasibility studies for new benchmarks, incorporating financial engineering principles when needed. Develop tailored proposals based on client requirements, technical and vendor capabilities. This includes defining specific business rules for composite indexes, sub-indexes, and implementing currency hedging and other special strategies as required.

Collaborate with internal teams to implement client directives regarding benchmark construction and maintenance

Conduct risk assessments and develop scripts to model commodity-based and other security-based benchmark models and look-throughs

Provide oversight and conduct validations of index risk measures, prices, and security-level compositions ensuring key stakeholders are kept informed of progress and expected outcome.

Partner with technology to standardize data sources and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiencies and automation in index data management processes

Develop algorithms to identify, record, and correct index data quality issues.

Analyze and interpret key market drivers that impact index pricing, risks measures, and security level compositions.

Manage index vendor relationships and provide support and oversight for benchmark setup, maintenance, and system enhancements

Drive high quality work products within expected timeframes and budget.

To qualify for the role, you must have

Minimum of 5 years of work experience in index data management, benchmark construction, and maintenance, including validation of index risk measures, prices, and security-level compositions.

Proven experience with end-of-day pricing, stock split processes, and processing monthly index rebalances.

Strong understanding of portfolio/risk management fundamentals and quantitative fixed income mathematics.

Proficiency in SQL and/or another programming language, with experience in managing, reconciling, and reviewing large fixed income data sets.

Ability to multitask and manage time-sensitive deliverables in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to write effectively and present findings to clients and internal stakeholders.

Demonstrated leadership, project management, and organizational skills.

Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, or another quantitative subject.

Ideally, you’ll also have

Direct experience working with indices at an asset manager or large reference data provider.

Experience interfacing with portfolio managers and account managers regarding index data.

Vendor management oversight experience.

Hands-on experience with performance attribution and risk modelling.

MBA or equivalent advanced degree.

CFA certification or progress towards it.

Ability to multitask and manage time-sensitive deliverables in a fast-paced environment.

The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $82,800 to $136,600. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $99,400 to $155,300. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
