Description Robert Half currently has a position open at a renowned company for an experienced Accounts Receivable (A/R) professional. To succeed in this role, you will enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging report, place billing and collection calls, maintain cash receipts journal, update, and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L. This is a long-term contract / temporary Accounts Receivable Clerk position and is based in the Hackensack, New Jersey area.What you get to do every single day
Pinpoint delinquent customer accounts through various means, including skip-tracing, phone contact, written correspondence, and make arrangements for payment
Execute a number of foundational accounting tasks in agreement with normal procedures, including general accounting tasks
Assist in setting up payment plans; contact clients to help resolve payment issues
Communicate, reinforce, and support the values, culture, and mission of the organization
Sort out payments and compile segments of monthly closings and annual reports in compliance with GAAP
Verify codes and documents
Reconcile bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in different ledgers
Present information, as requested to shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department and other stakeholders Requirements - Great attention to detail
Experience with ERP systems
Cash Collections experience preferred
Solid understanding of Cash Collections
Answering Inbound Calls experience
Dependability in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills in particular
Established analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy
2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable
AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field
