The Material Coordinator reviews schedules and confers with department supervisors to determine material, parts and equipment required or overdue and to locate requisitions. Establishes delivery sequences to departments according to job order priorities and anticipated availability for repair and/or service.TYPICAL DUTIES:

Perform aspects of management concerning the delivery of materials, parts and equipment in the timeline requested or provided by the vendor.

Investigate discrepancies and report them to management, recommending improvements to resolve issues.

Work to resolve supply errors in which incorrect or damaged materials, parts or equipment were received from vendors.

Examines material, parts and equipment to verify if appropriate materials/service was received.

Maintain equipment by coordinating and scheduling repairs or maintenance based on date of last service, mileage or urgency of repairs.

May monitor and control movement of material, parts and equipment, compute amount of material needed for specific job orders, applying knowledge of product, compile reports and records using manual or computerized system.

Check with all service providers to verify availability of facilities, notify employees to deliver specified equipment, and maintain a file of requests for service or repairs

Ensure that all safety inspections are maintained in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations.

Obtain and distribute new and renewals of registration and insurance cards.

Prepare records and reports as needed using government or spreadsheet software.

Maintain a good working relationship with coworkers and customers.

Safe and proper use of products and equipment to meet quality and safety standards.

Analyze, define or recognize the complexity of problems, collect necessary data to establish facts, and take recommended action based on established guidelines.

Frequent travel between facilities or shops.

Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : At least one year of related work experience. Working knowledge of the governing supply systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals or other established guidelines. Possess written and oral communication skills to effectively follow instructions, to present information and respond to management, employees and customers. Mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Ability to work safely and properly use tools and equipment. Demonstrated organizational, problem-solving and common sense skills. Customer service skills to act responsively to customer inquiries and requests; and escalate matters appropriately. An understanding of facilities maintenance operational guidelines related to supplies. Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities. Analytical ability to define or recognize the dimension of the problems involved, to collect the necessary data to establish the facts, and take or recommend action based upon application or interpretation of established guidelines.EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:High School Diploma or GEDTechnical/other trainingCERTIFICATES OR LICENSES REQUIRED:The following licenses or certificates may be required depending on local, state and/or contract requirements:Valid Driver's LicensePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance: Maneuvering in and around the warehouse Bending and stooping Lifting and moving boxes weighing up to 35 pounds Pulling or pushing up to 75 pounds May require using a pallet jack Climbing on and off material handling equipment Viewing Computer screen Utilizing keyboardWORK ENVIRONMENT:Work is performed in a commissary, warehouse, or distribution environment with forklifts, material handling and production equipment.
