Job Title: Lab AssistantJob Description
Lab assistants will take samples from the handling area and bring them to technologists' tables. - Will handle enclosed samples with PPE but will not directly touch open swabs or perform tests on the samples. - Work in the microbiology department. - Work along WASP machines for bacteriology. - Support intake and receiving of all samples. - Handle swabs, urine cups, stool samples, blood tubes, and cultures. - Update MicroPath LIS. - Take samples to lab technicians' tables. - Clean prep areas and instruments. - Store and sort samples in the storage room. - Ensure inventory of instrumentation for testing in REMSTAR. - Handle samples for multiple lab technicians. - Push or lift up to 50 pounds. - Move between buildings to transfer samples.

Previous overnight experience
Comfort working with human samples
Previous medical/laboratory experience (PLUS)
Certification in phlebotomy, home health aide, or lab tech (PLUS)
Job TypeThis is a contract position with a duration of 4 Month(s).Work SiteThis is a fully on-site position in Elmwood Park, New Jersey.Work EnvironmentWorking with urine in the urinalysis department with a team of 11-14 others on the night shift. Will work with urine cups and store them in the REMSTAR machine/track samples. Must be able to push or carry up to 50 pounds for the reagents used in this department.
