Supply Chain Purchasing Manager

Description Robert Half is looking for rockstar Purchasing Manager to oversee the supply chain team/buyers for a well-established company in the surrounding area of East Brunswick/Princeton NJ. 10+ years of experience is required. Experience with manufacturing machinery/motors/metals etc. is highly preferred. This role is on-site with flexible hours – early morning is preferred. Responsibilities:

Plans, manages, and coordinates sourcing and procurement activities to meet delivery requirements.

Collaborates with plant, warehouse, and logistics teams to optimize efficiency.

Partners with quality, sales, and engineering departments to develop cost-effective solutions for customers.

Monitors and adjusts inventory levels to optimize working capital.

Ensures proper utilization and functionality of the ERP system.

Serves as a leadership team member, regularly reporting department KPIs, providing analysis, and implementing countermeasures when necessary.

Reviews and processes purchase orders.

Maintains accurate records of goods ordered and received.

Negotiates prices and contracts with suppliers.

Builds and nurtures strong relationships with vendors.

Identifies potential vendors and negotiates contracts.

Evaluates vendor performance based on quality, timeliness, and pricing.

Ensures procured items meet quality standards and resolves issues as they arise.

Conducts site visits to vendor locations.

Enforces vendor compliance with company product specifications and customer requirement

Requirements

A minimum of a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, logistics, finance, or a related field is required.

Experience managing teams, negotiating with suppliers, and overseeing purchasing operations is essential.

Understanding the overall supply chain process, including inventory management, demand forecasting, and logistics.

Ability to analyze market trends, cost structures, and supplier performance to make informed purchasing decisions.

Ability to address issues such as supply shortages, quality control problems, or delays in the supply chain.

Ensuring accuracy in contracts, orders, deliveries, and financial documentation.

Strong understanding of procurement strategies, vendor management, and sourcing.
