Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Logistics Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of domestic transportation activities while also possessing some international logistics experience. This role requires strong leadership abilities, excellent organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of logistical processes.

Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate domestic transportation operations, including but not limited to trucking, warehousing, and distribution.

Plan and optimize transportation routes to ensure timely delivery of goods while minimizing costs.

Liaise with carriers, vendors, and customers to coordinate shipments and resolve any transportation-related issues.

Monitor transportation performance metrics and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies regarding transportation and logistics operations.

Provide guidance and support to logistics team members, including training, performance evaluations, and coaching as needed.

Collaborate with other departments, such as customer service and procurement, to coordinate logistics activities and meet customer requirements.

Assist in the preparation of transportation budgets and forecasts, and actively manage expenses to achieve cost-saving targets.

Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.

Handle any other duties or special projects related to logistics management, as assigned by management.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Proven experience (3-4+ years) in a supervisory role within the logistics or transportation industry, with a focus on domestic operations.

Familiarity with international transportation processes and regulations is desirable.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Proficiency in logistics software and tools, such as a transportation management systems (TMS) and or a warehouse management systems (WMS).

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Strong leadership abilities, with a track record of motivating and developing a team to achieve organizational goals.

Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and willingness to work occasional evenings, (limited Saturdays) as required.

Valid driver's license and clean driving record, if applicable.
