Laboratory Technician

The Laboratory Technician will be a key member in a small team performing hands-on research and development of next generation Group III-V and II-VI thin-film solar materials.

This position will include a variety of laboratory activities including wet chemistry, photo lithography, material characterization and solar cell testing.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a chemical laboratory, be comfortable working in a hands-on capacity with hot plates, ovens, scales, common glassware, pipettors, pH Meters, and both solid and fluid measurement techniques.

Candidates should also have a general background in chemical laboratory processes, a working knowledge of common chemical compatibilities, an ability to perform dilution calculations, and a general working knowledge related to the safe handling, disposal and safety protocols commonly used with acids, bases, and solvents.

Candidates will also receive training in, and perform material characterization with, spectrophotometers, solar simulators, ICP-OES, optical profilometry and SEM+EDS.

This position will be an in-person role, working in a laboratory facility located in Monmouth Junction, NJ.

Qualifications & Experience

- Experience with Wet Chemical Processing in Laboratory Fume Hoods

- Experience with Laboratory Chemical Solution Processing

- A General Understanding of Photovoltaic Materials and/or Thin-Film Solar Cells

- Any Experience with Spectrophotometers, ICP-OES, SEM+EDS and/or Keithley SMU's is a Plus

- Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
