We are a busy synagogue with 320 member families needing a part-time office assistant with flexible hours. Excellent communication skills are a must as is a friendly disposition and a willingness to work in a busy environment. Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher knowledge is a must! Additionally, a quick learner will make the difference as we use a database program called ShulCloud and a graphic design program called Canva. We will teach and instruct as we do not expect most people to know this synagogue-specific database. Our part-time candidate will be responsible for answering phones, Rabbi's correspondence, maintaining our Yahrzeit board, sending out Yahrzeit reminders, sending our weekly newsletter (via email), updating social media (Facebook, Instagram, and various other websites) and all other mass communication emails and announcements. Additionally, you will be responsible for our monthly mailing and you will be instructed and taught as to how this is done. You will help our executive director, bookkeeper, and occasionally assist the preschool director when necessary. Organizational and people skills are a must! Our candidate will work 5 days a week 25 hours, preferably from noon - 5:00 Monday to Thursday, and Friday from 9 - 2:00. During our busy times such as the high holidays, Passover, etc. we may ask for additional hours if necessary. We are a very active synagogue offering many events, fundraisers, programs, and classes. You will join a staff that likes getting together socially and who keep it "light and friendly". This position is hourly with one week of paid vacation, short and long-term disability insurance is provided by the synagogue.
