All types of cooking experience welcome, restaurant, culinary trained, foodies, or just good home cooks, cooking for about 10 people lunch (12:30pm) and dinner (6pm), 2 snacks.
Pick the days you want to work, pt/ft, have a set schedule or work it out with the other cooks each week. Time off or extra hours is never much of a problem, holiday OT or off never a problem.
Easy work for restaurant pros retired or on disability (every other day off to rest of you want), restaurant burn out cases, or anybody with other fish to fry, family time, other jobs, etc.
Run your own menu and your own day without the daily grind of most kitchens, lots of break time.
Flextime: no time clock, show up and leave when you want, come in late and take the middle of the day off paid, you still get paid for the full shift. Most of our cooks like to relax between meals, take breaks whenever they want, and run their day the way they want.
We run an alternative healthy menu, and aim at an independent chef-run eclectic gourmet/comfort food menu.
We are a small non-profit residential facility treating troubled young adults. We try to get our students into healthy eating.
The regular shift is about 10:30am-6:30pm, though this is approximate; there is no time clock and you can show up and leave whenever you want, as long the meals are out on time (lunch 12:30pm, dinner 6pm).
The pay rate is $15.13; you get paid for the full 8 hours each day you work, but it should be more like 3-4 hours actual work time, less if you rock'n roll, more if you want to go all out.
We like creative chefs who can keep a clean organized kitchen.
Additional work driving a company vehicle or minor maintenance is possibleor paid overnights (paid sleeping) possible if you have psych/social work/counseling degree or experience.
Close to Franklin Twp., Hillsborough, New Brunswick, Mansville, North Brunswick, South Brunswick, Princeton.
Ideal if you live locally so you can take advantage of the flextime and split day (go home in the middle of the day, run errands, relax, etc., if you want).
You should have your own transporatation (we are in a rural location). The right person can start right away. We are located in East Millstone, Franklin Twp, N.J. 08875, about 15-20 minutes by car from New Brunswick, Princeton, North or South Brunswick; 10 minutes from Manville, Hillsborough or Somerset.
