Our independently-operated Avis car rental location has served the needs of local families, businesses and travelers alike for over thirty five years. Our East Windsor, NJ location is actively seeking qualified candidates for the position of Part-Time Customer Service Rep. This position requires weekend work from 9am-12-noon on both Saturday and Sundayplus minimal additional weekday hours. The ideal hire will ensure a stress-free car rental experience for our customers by providing superior services that cater to our customers’ individual needs.
Required Work Hours
10-12 total hours per week including Saturday, 9-12, Sunday, 9-12, plus flexible opportunities for additional weekday hours.
Responsibilities
Provide a stress-free rentals and returns process for our customers
Quickly and accurately process rental agreements with Avis’ proprietary rental software
Effectively communicate with our customers when additional products that may enhance their travel experience become available
Provide outstanding service to our customers – both in person and on the phone
Resolve challenges professionally and politely
Maintain appearance, including dress, appropriate for our business environment
General Requirements
Stellar interpersonal communication skills
Communicate in English clearly – proficiency in English is required (proficiency in Spanish or other languages are a plus but not required)
Excellent computer skills, including managing multiple software systems and webpages simultaneously
Superb organizational and time management skills
Possession of a valid drivers-license (driving locally may be required on occasion)
Physical Requirements
Candidates must possess all hearing, speaking and communicating capabilities necessary to complete the responsibilities detailed above while performing all essential physical functions related to the job. These include (but are not limited to) effectively communicating to others in person, on the phone, and in writing; Typing; operating a computer; navigating the internet and online software; filing paperwork; and using the telephone.
Candidates will on occasion be required to drive short distances, ensure cars are clean, move cars in our parking lot, and clear snow from car exteriors
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive hourly pay of $16.00 per hour (based on prior experience) with opportunities for increases
Paid on-site training
Opportunities to work additional weekday hours
Our office is closed on major holidays
Education & Professional Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent required. An Associate or Bachelor's degree is a plus
A minimum of one year of sales and/or customer service
Ability to interact with customers in friendly, engaging manner
