Seeking a qualified Fiscal Officer to support the Finance Department. Under the direction of the Senior Director of Operations, this position will assist in planning, organizing, coordinating and directing a system for managing the financial resources of the department, programs and business.
Job Duties:
- Reports on and interprets financial data intending to promote economy and efficiency in the execution of programs.
- Develops, coordinates and executes financial policies, procedures and plans.
- Confers with and serves as technical and financial advisor to management on financial problems and related matters.
- Prepares for audits and edits reports of costs and other financial summaries and statements.
- Prepares various financial reports and budget requests.
- Reviews disbursements and controls to ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
- Provides technical and administrative guidance to staff.
- Assists in preparing the annual budget for the entire organization per established procedures and policies.
- Assists operational and staff units in developing their respective components of the overall budget.
- Monitors expenditures against allocations to ensure disbursements do not exceed authorized funding levels.
- Maximize profits by ensuring fiscal efficiency.
- Conducts scheduled audits and inspection of varied financials transactions and records.
- Manages the organization’s financial and statistical reporting system to ensure information is accurate and produced on a timely basis. Programs used include, but are not limited to QuickBooks, Google Sheets and other program specific programs used to track sales and other financial data.
- Prepares fiscal/statistical reports.
- Analyses fiscal/statistical management reports.
- Monitors and reviews accounting procedures throughout the business to ensure the procedures are uniform and consistent.
- Directs the preparation of reports required by accountant, financial institutions, etc.
- Directs the preparation of reports to government agencies required by law.
- Sees that the agency’s financial operations are in accord with legal requirements.
- Monitors financial reports of all programs to see that they confirm with required procedures and policies.
- Prepares or directs the organization’s cost analysis performance and recommends changes based on established norms.
- Must learn to utilize various electronic and manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office or related units.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or any business related field.
Required Experience: 2-3 years of experience involving accounting, budgeting, auditing, financial analysis and reporting.
Essential Skills:
- Knowledge of principles, methods, techniques and financial management systems.
- Knowledge of principles, methods and procedures in budgeting, accounting, internal auditing, program evaluation and financial and managerial reporting.
- Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations governing the installation and operation of a system of accounts and their application to specific situations.
- Knowledge of automatic data processing systems, procedures and controls.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management.
- Ability to apply sound, independent judgement in solving financial problems and administrating a financial program.
