Apply today to #BecomeOceanFirst and make an impact in the local community!ABOUT YOUR ROLE:The Loan Officer (Direct to Consumer) is responsible for originating mortgage loans through direct consumer interactions. This role works directly with consumers to guide them through the mortgage application process, from initial consultation to loan closing.WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Originates Mortgage Loans: Identify and pursue potential mortgage customers through various direct-to-consumer channels, including new customer inquiries, online inquiries, inbound/outbound calls, and customer referrals.

Meets or exceeds daily "call quotas" issued for all originators by contacting all prospects housed within Salesforce call list.

Conducts thorough consultations with potential borrowers to understand their financial needs and goals. Provides detailed information about available mortgage products and recommend suitable options.

Updates all assigned leads properly in Salesforce with specific information including lead status, transaction type related fields, detailed relationship building notes on all communications/interactions, and updates contact activity in live time.

Prepares and delivers transaction specific quotes to prospects via email and discusses over the phone.

Confirms receipt of quotes via email or verbal confirmation.

Provides consumer with specific instructions on completing loan application either via online application or by scheduling phone appointment.

Promptly responds to all communications directly from prospect or directly on behalf of prospect from any affiliates of prospects such as real estate agent, real estate attorney, or home owner's insurance agent.

Maintains communication with prospects through completion of loan application, transmittal of all requested financial documents, initial review of application/documentation by pre-underwriting team, and completion of disclosure process.

Educates prospects properly on the business model and tracks record for delivering a high quality customer experience supported by specific places to verify customer reviews.

Work closely with loan processors, underwriters, and other internal teams to ensure a smooth and efficient loan approval process. Address any issues or questions that arise during the process.

Provides continuous and timely feedback to operations on processing, pre U/W, and disclosures regarding any change in status to leads that have been converted to "app" in Salesforce.

Justifies decisions made in terms of the loan process and reports on them on an as­ needed basis.

Develops referral networks such as real estate agents.

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU:

Working knowledge of governmental lending regulations, and secondary mortgage market requirements.

Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills.

Proficient in MS Office Suite along with solid PC input skills.

Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule in order to meet the needs of customers with regard to their schedule and location, while meeting established production levels.

Ability to analyze financial documents and assess creditworthiness.

Proficiency in using mortgage loan origination software and other related technology.

Detail-oriented and organized.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Minimum of one-year mortgage or outside sales experience.

Must possess or be able to obtain the appropriate state mortgage loan originator license(s) as required by law.

INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CONTACTS:

Internal contacts are with departmental coordinates.

External contact with the borrowing public. Is required to establish relationships with title companies, attorneys, and real estate professionals.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Office environment. Ability to operate computer. Ability to communicate in order to exchange simple to complex information with individuals and groups. Ability to travel throughout Bank footprint.
