Job Title: CNC MachinistJob DescriptionWe are hiring candidates with varying levels of machining experience who have knowledge of manual Mill and Lathe machining. The role involves performing complex and diverse machinist work on irregular shapes and alloys, and is responsible for machining, light finishing, and other miscellaneous assignments. The ideal candidate will utilize their understanding of machining concepts, practices, and procedures, including the use of hand tools.CNC Level 1 - $19.50/hrCNC Level 2 - $21/hrCNC Level 4 - up to $30/hrResponsibilities
Set up and operate manual machinery including milling machines, lathes, drill presses, gun drills, surface grinders, and various hand tools, following engineering drawing specifications.
Rework parts according to print and instructions, both written and verbal.
Complete scheduled work on time to maintain production schedules.
Inspect components, subassemblies, and final assemblies to ensure proper form, fit, function, and dimensional accuracy.
Complete all required documentation, including routings and inspection reports.
Document time entry in the computer and ensure all work in process is properly identified and shop floor packets are up to date.
Maintain inventory of material and hardware.
Assist maintenance with the repair of machine parts.
Collaborate with engineering to develop fixtures for production and create process sheets for tooling.
Assist in other production department areas as needed.
React to situations during the assembly process to ensure on-time delivery.
Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized work area.
Perform other duties or special projects as required or assigned by the supervisor.
Essential Skills
Experience in machine operating and troubleshooting.
Proficiency with manual Mill and Lathe machining.
Ability to read and work from blueprints, drawings, sketches, work orders, or written instructions.
Proficiency in reading calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, height gauges, and other inspection tools.
Detail-oriented and efficient, with the ability to multi-task.
Ability to work under general supervision and follow instructions.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office.
Excellent data entry, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
2+ years of machine shop experience, preferably in an engineering environment using a majority of the equipment.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Welding experience is desirable.
