Job Description : The Senior Staff Accountant plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and compliance with internal controls and external regulations. This position is responsible for managing various accounting functions, including general ledger activities, month-end closing processes, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. The Staff Accountant will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial analysis, audits, and special projects.
General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring timely and accurate postings and adjustments.
Month-End Close: Lead the month-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, and financial statement preparation.
Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow reports in compliance with GAAP.
Reconciliations: Perform and review reconciliations of key accounts, including bank reconciliations, asset accounts, liabilities, and intercompany transactions.
Compliance & Audit Support: Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, and support both internal and external audits by preparing schedules and financial data as needed.
Variance Analysis: Conduct variance analysis and provide detailed commentary on fluctuations in financial performance compared to budget and prior periods.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and streamlining of accounting operations.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with finance, operations, and other departments to provide financial insight and support business decisions.
Qualifications/Skills :
Bachelor's degree in accounting of finance
5+ years of general ledger accounting experience
Strong analytical and accounting skills
Advanced experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and similar programs.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains software preferred
Details/Additional Information:
This position will be a hybrid role with 2 days remote and 3 days on-site at the company's Carlstadt, NJ office location. (40 hour work week)
