Our business is about people who need a place to call home and the people of Michaels who make it all happen.The Transactions Associate will support the student housing/multifamily development team with property analysis, underwriting, and ad hoc financial analysis. The Transactions Associate will be an active member in the finance team and get exposure to all aspects of real estate development underwriting and asset management.This position offers a great opportunity for progressive investment analysis experience and exposure to all facets of real estate acquisitions, development, dispositions, asset management and capital markets. There will be daily interaction at all levels of the company.Responsibilities Project development underwriting analysis including:o Develop and maintain project underwriting models and participate as a development team member independently.o Identification and survey project rent comparables and all other required information for underwriting a project. Prepare and improve internal investment committee presentations. Underwrite various on and off campus financing structures including traditional debt and equity structures and tax exempt structures. Interact with investment partners and lenders on a daily basis.QualificationsRequired Experience: Understanding and execution of concepts such as IRR, cash-on-cash, and NPV will be required.Required Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, mathematics, economics, or related fieldRequired Skills and Abilities:Strong analytical and quantitative skillsAbility to learn quickly, work independently and as a team member, and complete tasks with minimal guidanceStrong knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPointAccounting knowledge and the ability to understand financial statements is very importantWorking Conditions: Office enviromnmentSalary Range InformationThe range displayed on each job posting reflects the targeted base salary for the position.
