Description We are seeking a Senior Accountant for a long-term contract opportunity with our client in the pharmaceutical industry. The position is located in Bridgewater, New Jersey. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity which entails conducting various accounting functions such as journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.Responsibilities: Independently prepare and review journal entries for various functions including corporate, inventory, and intercompany transactions. Conduct necessary SOX controls to ensure financial compliance and integrity. Perform intercompany reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data across different departments or branches. Execute balance sheet account reconciliations to verify the accuracy of the company's financial statements. Prepare balance sheet account roll forwards, including variance analysis and explanations. Present variance commentary of the monthly actuals review to management and stakeholders. Support both internal and external SOX 404 audit requests and compliance requirements. Utilize various software such as Microsoft Excel, SAP S/4HANA, HFM, and PeopleSoft in performing daily tasks. Conduct account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations. Participate in the month-end close process by ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.Requirements Must have a minimum of five years of experience as an Accountant Proficient in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations Expertise in maintaining and managing General Ledger and Journal Entries Strong skills in Microsoft Excel are required Experience with Month End Close procedures Knowledge of SAP S/4 HANA, HFM, and PeopleSoft is essential Should have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field Ability to work effectively in a team and independently Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and an analytical mindset Must maintain a high level of ethical standards and professionalism Proven ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure Knowledge of current accounting rules and regulations Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Must have a proactive approach to tasks and the ability to take initiative Prior experience in a senior or supervisory role is preferred CPA certification is a plus but not mandatory.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
